FSSC 22000
The major European grocery chains now require their suppliers to be certified according to a standard approved by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). FSSC 22000 is a GFSI-approved management system standard and is therefore an alternative to BRC and IFS. FSSC is based on ISO 22000 and is aimed at pure food companies as well as manufacturers of packaging materials, transport companies and restaurants and catering.

FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council and is an independent, international membership organization that works for environmentally sound, socially responsible and economically viable use of the world’s forests, through its FSC certification system.

EU organic
EU organic is a certification and label that shows that the product is grown or manufactured according to the EU rules for organic production. Countries that export organic food to the EU must also comply with these rules. According to EU rules, an organic product must be labeled with the EU organic label.
